‘Vintgar Gorge - Sound of the river’
In the vicinity of Bled you can find one of the most popular natural features in Slovenia: the 1,6 km. long Vintgar Gorge.
In this gorge the Radovna river has carved its way through vertical rocks.
A path along the river and the steep cliffs leads you over several suspended walkways and bridges to the end of the gorge where a bridge overlooks the 16 m high Šum waterfall.
Since the Vintgar Gorge is very close to Bled, the highlight of Slovenia for many visitors, you won’t be alone on this trail.
But if you’re a little patient and wait till the groups of tourists have passed by, you find yourself alone with the beautiful sound of the river.
From http://www.slovenia.info/si :
The gorge has been arranged for visitors for more than a hundred years. Along the narrow passage, where the Radovna river thrashes loudly against its rocky confines, there are paths, galleries and bridges constructed in the rock. The trail runs through the 1600 m long gorge.
The Radovna flows over cascades and rapids, and in clear pools it finds peace for a few moments.
The Vintgar gorge ends at the delightful Šum waterfall, the highest river fall in Slovenia.

Hello Paul,
A beautiful place to traverse by that walkway hanging literally rocks, although not seems very safer.
Water has a color wonderful and transmits freshness.
Excellent light and details.
Best wishes,

Not only is the place beautiful but it is also very interesting. Looking at the wooden walk my feet are itchy to go and take pictures. I noticed that there was no sun when you took the picture and I guess that explains for a little flatness.

It's very difficult to find good pov and a so a good composition when the environment is so narrow like in a gorge, but you succeded very well to obtain and interesting photo with a fine sense of depth. Surely the place is very picturesque: the green vegetation growing on the rocks gives a fine chromatic contrast with the blue of the water and the long trail is an eye-catching which enhances the sense of perspective. I like the lovely textures of both rocks, moss and water.

Hello Paul.
Wonderful environment the one that shows us your photography and the one that remembers a similar route in Spain, though probably it is not a throat so narrow as this one, treats itself about the Throat of the river Cares that this between Leon's regions and Asturias, I it have done in an occasion and it was an unforgettable experience, they are between 5 and 6 km and only it is possible to do by foot also.
In your photo I am charmed with the local colors especially this blue of the river. Well done.
Cordial regards.
Luis.
