[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
Statue at the entrance of the port of Tarifa seems to be greeting fishing boat going out to the sea.

Moroccan mountain of Jebel Musa on the background across the Strait of Gibraltar. Together with the Rock of Gibraltar to the north, it is known as one of the Pillars of Hercules.

Hi Kari! Very important picture and a frame that impresses! If you left little the boat to pass in the void you would have, I believe a fullstop picture! I liked the choice of subject! Praises

hi Kari

Well composed view of the statue and very nicely presented. Good exposure in this pov. The grey mountains and a bird in the air is helping to balance the view. Good work.

I'd prefer to see more space on the right but seems difficult, in anycase showing both elements next to each other works in delivering the message, well seen
Have a nice evening jY

Hi Kari, amazing composition, with beautiful tones, good quality and good light too.
thansk, ciao

It must have been a super clear day, the mountain looks so close, I like the presence of the boat. I'd like to climb that mountain one day, the view of the strait must be incredible.

Bonjour,

Hi Kari - unusual shot of two continents in one... the other side looks so close, the mountain really impressive... also like that bird up there... congratulations, Daniel

I'm not sure how easy it would have been, but waiting a while for the boat to go further and then framing more to the right so the statue was further left might have made a more satisfying composition. Nevertheless your long lens has worked well and has compressed the distance to the mountain. I like the detail of the gull in the corner. The light, detail and sharpness are all good.
Kath

Super , post with three dimension . Very clean colors and very beautiful perpectvieve view
J'aime cette image Bravo Réal.

Very good composition, the flying gull is nicely balanced by the boat which goes to the opposite direction...

Cheers
Alexander

Hi Kari,
This is a great picture, with three or four levels: the boat, the statue, the darker waters of the Strait, the Moroccan big shore.
Morocco seems here so near, yet politics, religion and economics keep it away. Only the birds (like in the photo) are free to cross the Strait of Gibraltar. So many Africans have lost their lifes on these waters.
It recalls me the Manu Chao's song Clandestino.
Let me quote some words of it:
To a city of the north
I went to work
I left my life
Between Ceuta and Gibraltar
I'm a line in the sea
A ghost in the city
My life is forbidden
So says the authority

Hej Kari.
Very nice and well composed photo of the boat and statue with the massif African mountains in the background. The sharpness is where it should be and the light, colours and contrast are also very well handled.

Per

Kari,
A good shot which takes advantage of the weather conditions - the hazy rocks in the background making the foreground stand out all the more, whilst giving a spectacular backdrop and placing the scene squarely in location.

Colin
