You are correct, a dramatic sky can make or break a shot. Well done here, although slightly over exposed. If you shot RAW, maybe try to process another image, and lower exposure and contrast.

This photo is very good.The sky has a impressionist texture. The botton of the photo with the yellow sunflowers the tree and the house balance very well the photo.
