View of the Albaicin from the Alhambra.

The neighborhood had its greatest influence at the time of the Nasrids. The Albaicin maintains the urban architecture of the Moorish period, with narrow cobblestoned maze of streets interspersed with small squares. It was declared a world heritage site in 1984, along with the famous Alhambra.
