DOÑANA NATIONAL PARK. El Acebuche Visitors Centre.
The National Park's biodiversity is the result of the conjunction of different ecosystems.
The Park is noted for its extreme flatness. There, you can see a transition from the undulating topography of the 'cotos' to the marshes, which are the most noteworthy seeing as they provide a refuge for many migratory birds. The vegetation is also determined by the different ecosystems (dunes, sandy ground, fresh water and lakes...). With respect to the fauna, Doñana is home to a large number of species which, apart from the outstanding presence of the birds, includes the Iberian lynx (Lynx pardina), which has become an emblem of the Park, since it is a carnivore endemic to the Iberian Peninsula.

La biodiversidad que alberga este Parque Nacional es consecuencia de la conjunción de diferentes ecosistemas. Este territorio fue declarado Reserva de la Biosfera por la Unesco en 1980.
El Parque se caracteriza por una extrema horizontalidad. Así, se observa una transición desde la topografía ondulada de los "cotos" a la marisma, que es el conjunto paisajístico más destacable por ser refugio de muchas aves migratorias. La vegetación también queda determinada por los diferentes ecosistemas (dunas, suelos arenosos, aguas dulces y lagunas...). Respecto a la fauna, Doñana alberga una gran cantidad de especies, de las cuales las aves son las más destacadas, sin olvidar al lince ibérico (Lynx pardina), que se ha convertido en un emblema del Parque, siendo un carnívoro endémico de la Península Ibérica. |
