Photographer's Note

Hi friends and colleagues, today I offer this typical scene on the beaches and breakwaters of the coastal city of Nerja, fishermen fishing at dusk. I hope you like it, then some letters about the villa.

Nerja is a municipality of the province of Malaga (Spain) and the most eastern town of the region of the Axarquía.

It has a long history proven by the paintings found in the Cave of Nerja, discovered in 1959, which could constitute the oldest rock art images in the history of mankind with 42,000 years of antiquity.6 Under Muslim rule, its name was Narixa, which means "abundant source" and is the origin of the present name.

Since the 60's it is a preferred tourist destination belonging to the Costa del Sol. In 2010 it has an official population of almost 22,000 inhabitants, one third of the foreign residents, predominantly English.

Nerja has a mild climate all year round, which allows the cultivation of subtropical fruits such as cherimoya, avocado or mango.
The Sierra de Almijara occupies most of the municipal term, which reaches its maximum dimensions in the peaks of Navachica (1,832 m.) And Cuesta del Cielo or Cerro de la Bandera (1,508 m). The north of the territory is steep and abrupt.

Nerja limits to the north with the municipality of Cómpeta; To the east with the municipality granadino of Almuñécar; To the south with the Mediterranean Sea; And to the west with the municipalities of Torrox and Frigiliana.

It is located about 52 km east of the city of Malaga, and about 100 km from Granada and the Sierra Nevada ski resort.
Nerja consists of more than 14 km of coastline, from the west to the east, the beaches are Playazo, Chucho, Torrecilla, Salon, Calahonda, Chorrillo, Carabeo, Carabeillo and Burriana. The Playazo has an environment that has not yet suffered the consequences of the uncontrolled urbanization of the Malaga coast. And Burriana beaches and La Torrecilla are accessible for wheelchair users. The name of its cliffs are the Cala "Barranco de Maro", the Caleta, the cliff of Maro, the Tower of Maro, the Mill of paper, the Alberquillas, Cala del Pino "and Cala El cañuelo.
