Hello friends and colleagues, today I offer you from my walks around Ronda a view of the Plaza del Socorro with Christmas lights. I hope you like it, then some letters about the city.

Ronda is a city and a Spanish municipality belonging to the autonomous community of Andalusia, located in the northwest of the province of Malaga. It is the head of the homonymous judicial district and the capital of the region of the Serrania de Ronda.

Ronda has its origin in the Roman Arunda that would be constituted from existing Iberian settlements. The Visigoths continued until the arrival of the Muslims, who consolidated their role as county seat and its urban entity. Its location facilitated the defense of the city and put it in a strategic situation to master the steps and roads to Baja Andalucía. This and the availability of land suitable for agriculture finally gave it a remarkable historical importance.

The city is based on a plateau cut by a deep cut excavated by the Guadalevín River, to which the buildings of its historical center appear, which gives the city a picturesque panorama that, together with the variety of monuments that it possesses, to its natural environment and its proximity to the great centers of mass tourism of the Costa del Sol, has made Ronda a remarkable tourist center. The cornice of the pit and the bridge that saves it are the quintessential image of the city

The passage of people through a territory and an era has always left its unmistakable and indelible hallmarks. The sum of all the cultural vestiges that the different towns were leaving in Ronda, over the centuries, has resulted in a city and a unique and transcendent environment, a place with body and soul.

The body of Ronda gives us an urbanism armed with a diverse architecture of styles and essentially pure that means, fundamentally, beauty. That same body to which we refer also gives us a unique natural environment where the visitor does not feel like a tourist but a traveler who enjoys the landscape in the key of adventure.

However, if for a reason Ronda occupies a place in prose and verse, in the imagination and in the memory of famous artists and anonymous visitors, it is because it is a city with a soul, a soul that permeates like a lasting perfume to which he knows her, a soul that is a convoluted synthesis of all the corners, of all the customs and of all the people of Andalusia.

We watch Ronda. I was enriscada in the mountains, as a natural extension of the landscape and, in the light of the sun, I thought the most beautiful city in the world.
