An alcazaba (from the Arabic for citadel al-qasbah, القصبة) is a Moorish fortification in Spain. The word derives from the Arabic word Al-casbah,[1] a walled-fortification in a city.
Alcazabas remain in Almería (the largest), Antequera, Badajoz, Granada, Guadix, Málaga and Mérida. The alcazaba in Granada is the oldest portion of Alhambra.
Picture of the courtyard of AlCazaba, Not much intricate details in the architecture as Seville or Alhambra, but still has its own unique style, plain and simple. |
