Photographer's Note

Before visiting the Real Alcazar in Sevilla, I had seen pictures of the Baños de Doña Maria de Padilla, and I fully intended to visit it with my tripod. And then I completely forgot about it. As my wife and I were wrapping up our visit to the Alcazar, she noticed a doorway leading under the main part of the building. We decided to explore and I had an "Aha!/Oh crap!" moment. Here were the baths that I had meant to photograph, and me without my tripod!

Fortunately, there was a nice ledge at the edge of the baths. I upped the ISO a bit and balanced the camera as best I could (I had the tripod's quick release plate attached to the camera--should have removed it, but wasn't thinking) . Even with 1 and 2 second exposures, I was still able to pull off a perfectly sharp image.
