Photographer’s Note

A treker and his cloud are going on the way to peak Veleta in Sierra Nevada, at 3400m of altitude. This is shot at about 2500m of altitude and the climb will take about 3h.
In the distance there are still some snow left from the previous winter. Before July show up on the calendar all snow was gone, melted away by the high temperatures of the sun rays. In Granada, about 30km from here the temperatures were rising up to 40ºC.

A terrific picture almost resembling a surrealistic painting. Your pov and composition is perfect, with strong focus on the sky and the amazing cloud, and the man walking into the picture towards the patches of snow. Very well handled light.

The walker does not have anything to fear I think here, it is a cloud of good weather !!! Taking into account the temperature, the freshness of the tops must be quite appreciable… Beautiful and original composition with well managed colors and light. Good glance Ricardo.

subimos ao veleta nos anos 90 e era alto verão, agosto ou julho e havia neve velha lá em cima, nas áreas de sombra. é uma paisagem bem bonita. sua foto ficou minimalista e magnífica com o terreno, o caminhante e a nuvem bem colocados. beleza e qualidade em todos os detalhes. bem feito, parabéns

The amazing cloud would make a good picture on its own, but the inclusion of the hiker entering the scene is a great addition. Those small patches of snow are a good feature too.

Já vi muitas fotos de nuvens, de montanhas e de caminhantes, mas nunca tinha visto tudo junto do modo como apresentas. Embora as posições não o permitam, dá a ilusão que o caminhante tem uma nuvem só para ele para o proteger do sol.

Hi, Ricardo. A very aesthetic cloud. But what makes the picture is the trekker who is dwarfed by this huge white mass. The dirt road is a good lead into the image and it also separates fore- and background.

Without the cloud the photograph would be very general but this cloud towering above the trekker make a lot of a difference. At least this stretch does not look very steep but I guess there must be some climbing as well to reach the peak. Very nicely captured and executed with great light management to produce vivid color and high sharpness. Well done

então como tem sido a experiência por terras espanholas? pelo que pude ler na intro, pelo menos ao nivel de ligações à net somos mais avançados que os nossos vizinhos... então e o resto tá tudo a correr bem? espero bem que sim.
Pelo que tambem pude ler o sitio onde moras tem uns belos trilhos para caminhadas e biking e esta foto começa a mostrar-nos um pouco disto se bem que aqui o que domina mesmo é a pequenez do nosso "trekker" em contraste com esta nuvem gigante mesmo por cima da cabeça.
Isto nos livros do Asterix daria direito a dizer que o céu lhes estava a cair na cabeça :)
Gostei deste momento que nos mostras especialmente pelo timing perfeito a enquadrar verticalmente o trekker e a nuvem.
As montanhas ao fundo dão uma boa noção do que deve ser o terreno por essas bandas.

Well chosen POV and a good low horizon. The cloud looks like a text-balloon of the man, but he is thinking of nothing at the moment. It looks like he is walking on a highway.

I think it is a very appealing shot, a small man under a big fat cloud, which looks like a balloon he's carrying with him... :)
