Photographer's Note

This picture was made in the Chapel of the Condestable, the most famous of the 19 chapels in the Burgos Cathedral. It show the marble sculpture of Constable (general) Pedro Fernandez de Velasco with his wife and dog on the top of their tombstone. It is at the centre of an octagonal tower with a majestic ceiling, ornate alter and many paintings and sculptures on its walls. The chapel was built between 1482-94 with money donated by Pedro Fernandez de Velasco, and the sculpture on the tomb was made in 1525. I put a partial view of the chapel's altar into the Workshop.
