Photographer's Note
Within the city you can see numerous palaces and important houses. Look out for the Casa de las Conchas, House of Shells. This unusual building was built at the start of the 16th century. Details of it's history are unclear but it would seem that the builder was a Knight of Santiago so he applied the most common symbol of the order, the shell. The front features the coat of arms of the Catholic Monarch (not seen here).

SPECTACULAR view! I have been to Salamanca several times, but I have never captured the Casa de las Conchas like this. BRAVO! The color and light/shadow is exquisite And the position of the windows and grates is tremendous. BEAUTIFUL!
(By the way, you do know about the legend that there is a fortune in gold hidden behind one of the thousands of shells, don't you? It's a tempting story for such a magical house...)
