Hello friends and colleagues, today I offer this pretty flower pots with geraniums in the beautiful coastal town of Cedeira, located near the Ferrol, in the Galician province of A Coruña, I hope you like it, then some letters on the villa.

Cedeira is a Spanish municipality in the province of La Coruña, in the autonomous community of Galicia. It is located on the north coast of the Atlantic coast, on the eponymous river draining the Condominas river. Its population is 7,511 inhabitants in 2008 according to the INE.El name comes from the Latin cetarea.

Although the Sierra de la Capelada retains polished stone tools with more than 4,000 years old that have become known the slightest evidence for the presence of man in this country, we must go back to the eleventh century to certify existence, the sea, a place known as Cetaria. This arises possibly in the second half of the twelfth century and exercised dominion over it a member of the powerful noble family of the Lock. The power of ecclesiastical institutions makes an appearance right now. Thus, the vast expanses of land become part cedeiresa heritage monasteries Pedroso, Xubia, Sobrado and the Order of San Juan. But undoubtedly, the most significant is that in the same XIII century, the port of Cedeira maintains relationships with other ports overseas. At this time, the villa has a walled enclosure and in the fourteenth century, notes the existence of a fortress. Time when the inhabitants of Cedeira go on to become vassals of the House of Lemos. This situation will persist until the early nineteenth century. Abundant documentation around the time of the Old Regime and in this it can be seen daily in society: the hard work of the dizzying peasants, the desire of merchants and clerks; the concerns of clergy and gentry; the anguish of the whole community before the enemies that attack by sea; guilds, religious holidays ...

In the eighteenth century a turning point occurs. The fort de la Concepción as chastened response to a British attack, and meanwhile, the population grows rises, although the young leave the pitch to go to the Arsenals of Ferrol, where work was better paid.

The first half of the nineteenth century is harmful. Population falls and feel the effects of the War of Independence. Fifteen parishes that formed the jurisdiction cedeiresa eight become part of other municipalities. Including San Juan de Moeche.

In the second mitada of this century will recover and will open new urban spaces, seashore. They operate new factories salting and cetareas. This upward trend will not stop at the dawn of the twentieth century. New roads be approaching the old royal roads. The villa is illuminated and tourism makes an appearance.
