Last weekend we had the good fortune to spend a couple of days in Spain. These lovely houses (and one hotel) can be found on a long sandy beach south of Alicante. They have been built about five meters from the water's edge, and behind the houses there is flat woodland for miles and miles. It is a beautiful place to walk and to be, but with the images of the Indian Ocean Tsunami still clear in our minds, we couldn't imagine going to sleep in one of those houses - right now. And they do expect a seafloor eartquake in the eastern Mediterranean sometime in the next 30 years. It will take time for those images to fade, even for those of us who only saw them on TV. Imagine the survivors and the millions of eyewitnesses in the countries concerned.
This was taken with my new camera, cropped and resized, clarified, sharpened and filtered for noise.

Oh Congratulation Per and welcome in the club :-) I like the fine soft image showing us the beach - without tourists - ok a single - thanks.

Quite simple image of the reality, conditions looks bad to have a very strong coloured photo:)))
Good perspective. And good choice for the subject of a summer holiday's place in winter.

Congrats on your new camera, Per. Good play with perspective as you offer this glimpse along the shoreside buildings. The soft pattern in the sky is delightful, and I would also say you made a good work in pulling colors and ambience from what looks like a quite drab day. Well done. I guess the Hostal Maruja writing makes it eligible for Bert's "outdoor type" theme.
