Photographer's Note

This is one of the Madrid’s most iconic landmarks, the Cibeles Fountain at night. The fountain is named after Cibele (or Ceres), Roman goddess of nature and was designed by Spanish architect Ventura Rodriguez and finished in 1782. The buildings of Cibeles Square are also beautiful. In the Workshop there is a partial view in daylight of one of them. It is the Palcio de Comunicaciones or Communications Palace. Unfortunately in 2010, when this picture was taken, the centre part of the building was covered for renovation, only one of its wing is visible. It was built in 1909 for the postal service, but in 2007 it became Madrid's city hall.
