Photographer's Note

From Alhambra Palace, one can see this full view of Al-Baycine with its churches and recent mosques towers (one can not distinguish between the two). This is part of the beauty of the Alhambra Palace, that it is not just beautiful to look at but also beautiful to look from.

What did I do to this picture?
The day was already dramatic while I was walking in the gardens of the palace. You can picture me excited and running around to capture my photos with this sky. With photoshop, as the photographers of the past used to do in their 'darkrooms', I tried to emphasise the feeling I had then. I reduced the saturation and increased the contrast to accentuate the dark and bright sides of the sky. In the process, I felt that the tower of the church, where it touches the sky, will increase this dramatisation.

As I described the process of what I did, I felt I am blending technical words, with emotional words and a sense of deep meaning. Isn't that the joy we get from photography? Now with the power of the 'darkroom' we all can possess, each of us can use the tools that in the past only professionals possessed.
