This is the international bridge built in 1886 - over the Minho River between Valença (Minho- Portugal) and Tuy (Galicia - España).
This project is of the spanish Engineer Pelaio Macedo is a dooubled deck bridge. The upper one for railways and the lower inside the strcture for road trafic.
The "almost" white color of the bridge steel truss structure is due to the earliest maintenace works "metalization" for corossive protection.

"In seeing you so close, Galicia and Minho, One would say you were two lovers who the river keeps apart." So wrote Portuguese poet Joao Verde, of the bordering provinces of Spain and Portugal. Separated by the Minho River, the two share Celtic origins and valleys fertile with golden maize and Alvarinho grapes.

This picture reminds me of a painting I saw many years ago. The bridge has a very interesting and unusual appearance. I saw the other picture, from inside and this photo is a great completion. Thank you for showing

Olá Rui,
Aqui a ponte não se vê muito bem (ou melhor, não se vê bem como é a sua estructura), mas a imagem no seu todo está magnífica, com Tui ao fundo. Pena o céu não ter ajudado mais.
