The light on Gran Via Photo

Photographer’s Note

Gran Via is one of the grand boulevard in Madrid. There you can find a lot of cinemas, swanky boutiques and restaurants for tourists.

This is a vibrant stretch, day and night and on Fridays, traffic jams tend to last from evening rush hour right through till dawn.

magnifique vue dans cette rue madrilène, cette petite pose longue donne un dynamisme certain au bas de l'image ce qui tranche avec la tranquilité du ciel.
Et puis le moment de prise de vue était optimum.

Yes, I do recall the endless flow of traffic on Friday nights. It's really incredible. I guess La Movida keeps the city awake 24 hours a day. Love the colors and your pov. I can really feel myself watching this over a cozy hotel window. The exposure is really perfect. Like it a lot!

Salut André,
Ca c'est du ciel comme je les aime : une lueur mystérieuse et colorée. Il met superbement la statue en silhouette qui domine le dôme. Une composition extrêment soignée, très riche, on sent que la lumière orange à droite n'est pas là par hasard, ni l'enseigne lumineuse en bas. Vraiment excellent.

Hi Andre,
What a view, and what a light. The exposure could not be better. Detail is very high, just as the sharpness. These kind of pictures looks like they are easy to made, i have to disappoint people who think so. This is all about light handling in a very perfect way.
Excellent work my friend, i like this a lot.

All I will say is that its simply one of those beautiful photos which comes from a combination of a good POV, spotless exposure and beautiful light. A great amont of sharp, interesting details, life on the busy street. Fantastic stuff.

Le point de vue surelevé donne une très bonne image sur cette rue ! Le filé des voitures est très réussi. Il donne beaucoup de dynamisme à la scéne ! Le ciel aux couleurs splendides est très bien cadré.

Hi Andre - I can sense the urban bustle, and what a sky, not just a blue hour but the rainbow hour, imitating the colorful lights below, part of me wants to clone the comminication tower out, though it does add more interest to the sky.

Elle tire un poil sur le pink ta blue hour, non ? Pas grave moi ca me plait, et tu as deniche un super PoV pour cette photo des batiments de Madrid, une ville a l'architecture tres riche et interessante. Les traces des feux de voiture ajoutent la petite touche de dynamisme qui va bien, ca le fait !

Salut André, bon je te cache pas que je l'ai déjà vu cette photo, que je ne m'y suis pas arrêté parce que je suis une faignasse mais là maitenant que j'ai un peu de temps je le fais, elle est vraiment superbe cette photo, pas grand chose à dire. La technique est parfaitremetn maitrisée, le POV est déroutant et met superbement en valeur l'architecture et les lumières de ce boulevard madrilène.
Les couleurs sont un must ici, le violet du ciel et le jaune du trottoir sont très accrocheurs pour mes yeux.
Vraiment bonne qualité

Salut André, je suis à préparer un voyage en Europe, et que j'ai montré ta photo à ma copine la semaine dernière, elle n'a pas été longue à convaincre!!
Comment t'es arrivé à avoir cette couleur dans le ciel? C'est naturel tout ça? Peu m'importe, c'est vraiment jolie! Magnifique la rue qui arrive en diagonale comme ça vers le coin inf. droit. Les bâtiments sont fabuleux mais le clou de tout ça, c'est tout simple, c'est la statue en silhouette dan le haut avec le mauve en background. Juste ça, c'est vraiment trop bon!

Yes, the light of Madrid is special. Many people say it and you have probe it with this photo Andre. I love the outstanding sharpening in this composition and the mouvement mood of the sidewalks down the Gran Vía.
