Since I visit Salamanca, in my first time, I saw this wonderful doors and I want to take a picture. Latter of six months living there, I was preparing to leave Salamanca, someday I was walking in the streets and I finally found this place and I took the picture, I felt so happy and lucky.
I like this picture, because is very suggestive, is like if this hands with the apples (wich represent the sin in the bible) are inviting you, to entrance. You can see even the door open just a little be. This way this image is telling you many things, like; how will be this place? what you going to find in the other side of the gate? this will be fun? mistery? maybe the hell? or the heaven? we dont know the only way is.....

Yes indeed very inviting and intriguing. The doorknobs in this part of the world seem very unique. I don't see stuff like this even in the oldest buildings in Calgary. Realmente parece que las ciudaddes en España son museos vivos, vivos pues gente vive en ellas, que ofrecen muchos atractivos culturales y artisticos. Las manos con la manzana son un simbolo Cristiano muy importante y aqui me ponen a pensar mucho, pues el sentido artistico se mezcla con lo religioso para darnos una manilla que abre la mente a ideas interesantes. Olá Elias, excelente detalhe para a tua colecção infidável de maçanetas de porta. Gosto muito do efeito de repetição e profundidade criada pela outra lá atrás. Bonita luz e boa escolha para o sepia que acho que fica muito bem aqui, até para dar um pouco do efeito de mistério que sugeres na nota.

Good Morning Elias. I started though your gallery and came upon this wonderful capture. It must be nice to live in a city where many items of culture abounds. The fruit with the hand turned is like a suggestive inviting trap. The open door really is an important aspect of the invitation for transgression, just as you mentioned. An excellent photo illustration for making wise choices in life! Nice capture to say the least!

I just sign up for TrekEarth and did a Salamanca search because i was just staying there for 3 weeks! I stumbled upon this picture and couldn't believe it! This door with the hand and apple knocker is the door to my "residencia" during my stay in Salamanca! It is a really nice building inside and it is located on Calle de Zamora (street). I just couldn't believe i found this picture!
