[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
As I promised, here's my 3rd photograph of Casa Milà, designed by Barcelona's most famous artist Antoni Gaudí. It was taken on the roof of the house. There's much to say about this picture. As you can see, the roof of Casa Milà is full of weird looking constructions: some are chimneys lower right corner, others are some sort of towers. The biggest element on this photo is a 'tower' with a staircase inside. It's very special, and maybe that's why my composition is a bit special too :P

I still don't know why but, instead of stitching 2 or 3 photos together, I decided to take only one picture of it. Like you see, it wasn't easy to get every detail into the picture. I had not much space, so I had to frame very well and had to put the central element diagonally in the frame. That's why the framing is really tight (didn't crop anything neither).

Another important thing is the window in the tower. I thought it would add something to the shot if I waited for the right moment. So when I saw this girl entering the tower, I waited till she would walk down the stairs, and shot! :) I hope you like the result...

I also posted the original picture to compare... The most important changes include adjusting contrast and cloning a few things out :-)

Here's some additional information about Casa Milà (Source - Wikipedia):
Casa Milà, better known as La Pedrera (Catalan for 'The Quarry'), is a building designed by the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí and built in the years 1906–1910 (officially completed 1912). It is located at 92, Passeig de Gràcia ('passeig' is Catalan for promenade or avenue) in the Eixample district of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. It was built for the married couple Rosario Segimon and Pere Milà. It is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Works of Antoni Gaudí".

Greetings!
Thomas

Thomas-

The best of the views you've post so far of Gaudi's famous building.

Well balanced, with perfect lighting. I'm not usually a big fan of tilted images. However, this building, and especially this shot, just cries out for experimentation.

Weel done!

~Vic~

Thomas,
There's a lot of photos of this roof floating about, so it takes something a bit special to stand out from the crows. I think you've achieved that here with this frame filling diagonal. Excellent idea, well realised.

Hi Thomas
The framing and the tilt here give an original and powerful composition. The clean curves and bold colours are really attractive, and the glimpse of the girl adds a subtle human element. A skilful shot, very nice.
Regards, Susanna

hi Thomas
the photograph looks very dramatic, thanks to your framing it in a diagonal fashion. note is quite informative too. the lighting is perfect i feel. and the structure is very interesting too.
take care
ciao

Hi Thomas.

One of the best picture I've ever seen of this excellent roof.

Amazing tilt and lovely colours!

Rgs, Oscar

Hi Thomas,

Good colors and excellent sharpness!
best regards.

Dag Thomas,

Mooi!

Groetjes uit...euhm...Borgerhout!

Benny

Original composition which puts into evidence the courious shapes of this building. Almost abstract.
Very good saturation and sharpness, the girl in the window adds the "human touch".
Well done,
Donato

hello thomas

a very nice take, imnaaho. color palette is very appealing and i 100% agree with your tilted approach to get MORE of the building in the frame in a concise form.

kind regards,
kristaps

Hi Thomas,

stunning composition. The tilt and the perspective works pretty fine in here. The color contrast between the well polarized sky and the warm tones of the building was essential to make this image an eye catcher. Great job!

Carlos
