Work by Valencian architect Santiago Calatrava.

The futuristic structure looks like a great and magical shell stretched toward the water and green areas that surround it.
Dedicated to the Reina Sofia, this sculpture gives the impression of having left the sea, both by the brightness of their surfaces, for the light colors such as the shape itself. All of these elements that give it a touch of mystery, thanks to the wisdom with which Calatrava has managed to create a special harmony between the lines, light and colors. The new building stems from an area of 40,000 square meters, between green areas, water and footpaths. In its 75 meters tall houses four theatres, respectively for lyricism, for symphonic music for ballets and for the theatrical.
A pillar of reinforced concrete white bra makes a metal structure that ends with a surprising tip. It is especially this part of the building which gives dynamism to the entire structure, in fact characterized by soft lines but lively.
The large curved deck, nearly a dome, is crossed by a hail of steel and relies on two mainstays, while the party's most easterly totally devoid of support elements.
"Trencadis" are the thousands of pieces locally made pottery pieces that Calatrava has chosen to use for decoration and coating roofs. Among its objectives, in fact, was the linking of this building not only with the landscape around him, but also with the history of the place. The forms also reminded of a boat, and it seems that is about to embark on a journey between the waters of the nearby River Turia.
A great work of my land. a greeting.

ciao Selu,

Hola Jose,

Funny architecture! From this POV is looks like a helmet taken from one of the star wars film... The picture is good, but looks a little pale, a small adjustment in the contraste in PP would impove it.

Regards,

Flavia
