Photographer’s Note

I found these crosses along with about 10 others in the far corner of a neat and tidy Swedish cometary. They were all lined up along the back wall. I think (someone please correct me, if I'm wrong) that their descendants were no longer around and so they lost their space in the cemetery. I know that in Denmark families rent a family plot and when they no longer pay, the grave marker as well as the remains, are discreetly removed. This particular cemetery was much larger than the average Danish cemetery, but these crosses certainly looked to be the last reminders of these folk, after their remains had long been lost.
