Photographer’s Note
This shot was taken in Kisa - a little town in Östergötland.
(As far as I remember "Kisa" is pronounced something like [shisa] in Swedish; but if I am wrong, please, correct it!)
Some more thorough search - and again I have not found any photos of Kisa on TE, so this one will be the only one, so far...
Frankly speaking, this is the only photo of Kisa I have. I saw it while I was looking through my old photo albums with photos of the past 10 years, and I thought why not to post it here - for the sake of showing a little bit more of the world - and of Sweden! :)
This photo was taken a bit in a hurry. I came to Kisa with a friend from Linköping, she was going to visit her grandmother who lived somewhere near Kisa (we had to take another bus to her home).
We had no time to walk about this almost empty, quiet town, so I just took one photo while we walked to a bus stop. I don't know the name of this street, I really can't remember where exactly in the town this place is, but I know one thing for sure: this is Kisa :)
I must say that the photo was taken with a pretty bad camera (a Samsung film camera) with absolutely automatic settings, and the film was not of the best quality, so I guess the only thing you can assess is the composition.
The image was scanned and postprocessed to retain all the possible natural colours. Strangely, I did not find any awful noise in the image. Anyway I made some noise reduction, to be on the safe side.
In any case, here is a bit more of Sweden for you...

Some info:
"Kisa is a town (pop. 3,700) in Östergötland, located south of Linköping in a forest region. It is the centre of Kinda municipality, Östergötland County.
Actress Karin Inger Monica Nilsson, who featured Pippi Longstocking from the book of Astrid Lindgren in the 1970s, was born here. Also, Met-Rx World Strongest Man 1998 winner - Magnus Samuelsson was born in Kisa, Sweden."

Bonjour Elena
photo où les maisons de toutes les couleurs égaient l'image, belle prise de vue malgré le manque de luminosité

Hej Elena,
Yes, this is definitely the only picture of Kisa here on TE. I have never been there and I will probably never go there either, but your fine photo here made me check Wikipedia for more information. Then I found out that there is a paper mill here, just like there once was at Koppom, another place that is just as easy to avoid as Kisa (but better documented on TE)...
But Kisa is perhaps most known as the birthplace of the late "Kisa" Magnusson, once called Janis Joplin of Sweden.
Best regards
Gunnar

Hola Elena,
Me gusta ese camino con casa de colores,
interesantes fachadas, buenos contrastes,
la definición no es optima, pero quizás es porque es scanned?
Buen trabajo!

Hello Elena
Typical north European atmosphere.
Good framework and nice color combination.
But I am afraid there in no people, why ?
Best regards and many thanks

Hello Elena
Kisa is a very colourful, very clean and obviously a very quiet town. A well composed photo and I can forgive you for the over exposed sky. An OK scan. TFS, Marlene

I don't know Kisa Magnusson, but Janis Joplin who is my Goddes and Muse...
anyway, houses there are so colorful and lovely, like miniatures.
dolls may be about to appear on this street!
(this sky is scaned film image...)

Hello Elena,
I think the emptiness says just about all about the pleasures of very small rural Swedish towns. No wonder people move somewhere else. It's a nice picture, quite colourful, and you have done a good scanning job. Contrary to what my brother claims, I think he has been there once, although more than 50 years ago, on a very rainy day of our vacations by car around southern Sweden in approximately 1955.
Best regards,
Gert
PS the pronunciation is roughly (for those speaking English) "cheesa", but without the sound of t- at the beginning. Easy?

Hi Elena,
I like your model of the unadulterated Scandinavian country town! I suppose the impressive building on the left side is a hotel, left from the times when traveling through Scandinavia by train required overnight stays. Excellent perspective. Most of all I like the typical Swedish colors dominating this impression. TFS!
Warm regards
Harriet
