Photographer’s Note
To post a picture of a church on a Sunday is apparently a Papagolfade! But what if you post a picture from a factory on a workday, what would that be? There are many pictures of church interiors on TE, but not many of factory interiors.
However, there seems to be already too many ads here on TE, so won´t add another one by telling you what company it is or what they produce. But I will give some hints:
This company was founded in 1896, in a small village about 25 kilometres north of Karlstad in Värmland. It was not a paper mill, so the major raw materials had to be imported. They realised soon that this was a disadvantage and moved the factory to Gothenburg in 1909, to a location well outside the city centre. (The geocodes for the old site are 57.6885 12.0021, if you are interested). But the city grew and in the beginning of the seventies, there was a decision to build a new motorway in the area where the factory was. The the city bought the site and provided a new one in the southern part of Gothenburg.
I started my employment with this company on February 12, 1968, i.e. at the old factory. We moved to the new site in October 1973. If you look at the map view here, you can see a very big industrial area around this factory, but in 1973 there was nothing. We were the first company here! There were hardly any roads and the company had to lease a bus to transport the workers to and from the factory. There were field with cows around and the occasional elk coming down from the big forest south of our site.
I retired on October 31, 2005, but I visit them quite often. I took this picture of Line #3, just before the holidays. The line was idle at this moment, so I could take a picture without being disturbed. I have taken care not to include anything that might interest a competitor.

Hello Gunnar,
Fairly unusual these days to spend most of your working life with one company; you must have enjoyed it. Fairly unusual photo as well, at least for TE. It makes for an interesting graphical image with good light and colours. I like the presence of the loader, which suggest a human touch as well as providing a nice splash of colour.

Hej Gunnar,
Your detailed description gives me a strong hint what factory this might be, but I have to question your history writing. I am pretty sure that I got a job here already in August 1973, when I had recovered from a long Asian journey and needed money. That was something like the week after the new factory had opened. Maybe your lab moved later.
Nevertheless, it looks surprisingly attractive, with a lot of fine diagonal lines of blue and green, and of course the ever present red element. The light can't have been very bright, so the little there was has been well handled.
Hälsningar,
Gert

Hallo Gunnar!
This is an intriguing and interesting "Industryade". It caught my eyes even in the small version. All these lines, curves, angles, colours ... really intriguing! A somehow captivating graphical effect.
This time a special "Thank you" for the wonderful note! I won't visit my work place again ... ;-)
Greetings from still warm (27°C) and sunny southern Westphalia!

hello Gunnar,
inyersting idea to photograph the inside of a factory. This is the real world and worth representing on TE. I like the graphical feel of this with its bright colours and geometry of lines and angles.
Best regards,
Bev

It would have to be a Gunnarade or a saxade. You must have enjoyed your working life to want to re-visit after retirement. It's a very well taken interior shot and not one where a flash would have been much use in the large size of the factory. The primary colours are a strong feature of the image, particularly the red truck. There are so many possibilites for abstract geometric images.

Hi, Gunnar.
This is a wonderful picture of the inside of a factory. You have made the very most of what could otherwise be a very unimpressive subject. The detail is superb with your usual incredible sharpness. Once again, it bears your signature, with that bright red truck in the left foreground against the more sombre blues and greens behind it. Good use of perspective too.
Interestingly, you have used flash in this picture: I find in situations such as this where there are subjects both close and distant from the camera, flash can cause the near objects to be grossly over-exposed whilst more distant objects are too dark. You appear to have avoided that in this case.
There is, I think, just a bit of "noise" or graininess in the darker parts, presumably because you used ISO 250. It is interesting that the Canon G10 packs over 14 megapixels into its small sensor and that caused criticisms in many reviews because it lent itself to graininess and noise at high ISO's. I see that the new G11 which has just been announced has a more modest 10 megapixels - perhaps Canon have responded to criticism. A bit too late for us, though!
Now, I love a puzzle, Gunnar. You gave us co-ordinates of the old building as well as the new one. You also, I believe, included some of the product on the far right of your picture. The factory, I believe, belongs to a company called "Forbo" and there are several factories beloning to this company in Gothenburg. This factory, however, now produces vinyl floor coverings though it did produce traditional linoleum in the past. Other factories produce adhesives, conveyor belts and parquet flooring. Am I right?
Kind Regards,
John.

Hello Gunnar,
this is such a geometrical, "technical" shot! Well, yes, you managed to compose the image in such a way that it's really impossible to guess what is produced at this factory.
But whatever it is, I like the diagonal lines which go in different directions, and the blue and red colour brighten up the picture :)
Wishing you a nice day,
best regards
Elena

Hello Gunnar,
ici, dans cette production bien exposée malgré des lumières difficiles, ce sont les couleurs et les droites qui se partagent la vedette. Cette touche de rouge ne passe pas inaperçue.
Bien vu et bien cadré.
Amicalement.
Daniel.

Hello Gunnar,
An interesting interior, point of view gives great details in the machinery and you manage very well with the present light (with some flash help)..!
Regarding the kind of business, this reminds me of a printing press and not just any but for newspapers...
I don't quite make that match since I think I picked up somewhere you're a musician?
But I may well be wrong hahaha...
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hello Gunnar,
I am of agreement to see photographs of industrial facilities. They are most of the time spectacular and cause the astonishment. Your image extremely well describes the interior of a kind of modern factory. Good idea, excellent photo.
Have a nice day.
Cordially.

Ciao Gunnar,
foto molto originale, dove è possibile vedere un piavevole effetto grafico ottenuto dalle scale e dai tubi metallici.
L'inserimento del carrello elevatore dà dinamicità alla scena e dà un bel contrasto cromatico di colore.
Bravo!

Hej Gunnar,
I had a great laugh when I read the first lines of your note! I really appreciate this kind of humor.
And I also appreciate your efforts to guide us inside the working life of Gothenburg. Since it is neither Volvo nor Hasselblad I must admit that I have no idea where you have spent your professional life! But it is a very tidy place and a very pleasant composition with interesting structures and nice colors. Being a strong supporter of the principles of Feng Shui I have to say that this is really a very pleasing activity area. TFS!
Warm regards

Hi Gumnnar, I wanted to try to solve a puzzle but I didn't guess and saw the answer. Very attractive photo, with nice lines coming in different directions, strong colours, with red:)).
What amazes me is your story. You worked such a long time in the firm and even moved with it. So probably you started just after study. It was so in our times. I also have worked in one place more than thirty years and still make something and still I feel it is 'my' firm. My husband also has worked since 1969, and still does. Only the young people change often looking for something new.

Hej Gunnar,
A really surpring post, but a really good picture of what it looks like in a factory in Sweden today. Clean and no or few workers seen anywhere. I guess that the are somewhere in front of computers supervising the production process. Excellent and colourful composition. I note that you have included a red eye catcher as usual This time from BT Industries in Mjölby. TFS and have a nice weekend!

Hello Gunnar. A photo from the world of the work and production. Here technology and function are located in the center. The colors red, green and blue complement each other very beautifully. A good shot. Regards, Wolfgang.
