Photographer’s Note

This picture was taken yesterday at Härlanda Tjärn, a popular lake in Gothenburg. We had very fine weather! A pressure was pumping clear, but a bit chilly air from north-east.

This girl had chosen a place at the end of a long jetty where she could enjoy the sun, obviously doing her homework.

I can't think of a more appropriate place than this to do homework! It would certainly invigorate the mind!
Good pov with the jetty emerging from the corners to lead towards the girl. Fine details of colour and texture.

A scene of life very well colected. the colors ( the pink, the blue of the water,...) are superb. Great depht too with the prospect effect. Plesant play of shade in the FG. The attitude of the lady is too very well colected. An excellent photowork.

Hello Gunnar,
A nicely lit composition of this girl with her al fresco homework. A good idea - get education and fresh air at the same time ;-) I like how you have positioned her in the frame with the jetty on a slight diagonal, it brings a certain dynamism to the image. Good light as I said complemented by very good colours and sharpness.

The colors are a true pleasure. The pink harmonizes itself so well with blue. This pontoon considering thus, is almost strange with the top of water. The occupying one of the places, I have a presentiment of it, is charming. Superb image, congratulations.

I imagined she was an artist drawing a picture until I read your note. Your framing/crop works well so each side of the jetty emerges from a corner. The light and combination of colours makes an excellent image.

Hi Gunnar, Nice photo, good place for doing homework, but I think that sitting by the desk is more comfortable. Even when it is good weather work rather in house than in the garden. One can see that it is already rather cold in Gothenburg. She has cap and this yellow shawl like in winter.

You’ve been very busy posting some fine new images while I've been away.

This one is immediately recognisable as one of yours. The geometrical precision of the crop, with the sides of the jetty arising as strong diagonals from the exact corners of the frame, makes a very pleasing composition. The placing of the figure is just right too.

The blue of the water, the touch of red colour in the bench, and the shadows on the wooden surface of the jetty, are all strong elements in the picture..

Clear and sharp throughout – a fine photograph.

I just found this one - it's a beauty! I like the title too. I appreciate the simpleness of this 'study' (it's also a 'study' in addition to the activity of the woman), the sharpness, the light and shadow, and the deft placement of the subject and angle of view. A delightful and compelling picture.

I just came home from the North Sea where there is no forest on the beach...
Your photo really is eyecatching - even in the small version and it transmits a wonderful calm and somehow relaxed atmosphere. The composition ist perfect and I like especially this great light you caught here. An enviable place to do homework ... ;-)

There is a pleasant atmosphere in this picture, and the girls adds a lot of colour. She is well placed slightly off centre, and the jetty makes a fine diagonal line into the picture. I also like the very green background.
