Photographer’s Note

This photo was taken yesterday in the park called "the Garden Association" (Trädgårdsföreningen) in Gothenburg.

Flies in the family Syrphidae are commonly known as hoverflies, flower flies, or syrphid flies.

This flower fly had dressed up like a wasp. I hope he survived the night as we have had frost now in Gothenburg.

Hats off ... for this shot! It's all around perfect. Something like this human eye nearly can't perceive in this way. Your main character really has had strong nerves ;-)) A really worth-showing and worth-seeing photo!

This close up shot is a bit of a departure for you, but it is a fantastically sharp and clear image.

Whether by accident or design, you have placed the insect with its wingspan exactly on the diagonal between two opposite corners, giving a geometrically satisfying composition.

This is not a typical TE image, but I really like it. Now that the weather is cold and windy, I'm sure this image of late summer is gone, but it is so nice to see that you captured it. Good use of a square frame to really bring out the symmetry in the photo. Well done!

Fantastic macro shot. I had no idea that flies disguised themselves as bees. Brilliant colours captured. The petals look like diamonds. Crystal clear, with details easily seen. This is going in my favourites!
