Photographer’s Note
Ok, it looks like a bridge and I am supposed to show you bridges. But this is a conference building and not a bridge. As the building was designed to be a conference center and museum of the road adminstration the architect tried to make it look like a bridge and he did a nice job of it.
The roof has the form of a bridge deck going of in a dynamic uphill grade that ends in mid air. Above the deck two pylons stand tall with a nice fan of stay cables down to the deck. The pylons and cables are not used in the structural system of the roof, they are just decor. So much for the fake of it.
The design is well done and the architect won some awards for it when it was built some 15 years ago. Thats the winner story.
And as someone might ask - Yes, my office is right next to it ;o)

Ahhhh, a free ad for your office building! :) That yellow pylon sure attracts the eyes in your good composition.

Hello Ebbe. Isn't it nice if your office is surrounded by interesting architecture? We also have a few nice buildings in the university area, but for sure we don't have anything like this bridge-like-building! You spotted very well the beautiful combination of the colours of the sky, pylon and concrete. In combination with the straight lines - except for the windows - they make a nice abstract picture. However, I think that the concrete is a bit too much present. A tighter crop on the left would give a better balance, IMHO. I added a WS to illustrate what I mean.
