Photographer's Note

An artist's recreation of how the ill fated 'Vasa' might have looked when it set sail to do battle with the Polish, (who were arch enemies back then) on 10 August, 1628. Exactly 390 years ago. I have loaded a workshop view of part of the massive shipwreck inside the museum. It only managed to sail 1,300 metres before capsizing. The problem was that it was top heavy and did not have nearly enough ballast down below. It's one of Sweden's most popular tourist attractions. The sketch is about 4m by 3 metres. I have cloned out the top right corner which previously showed part of the ceiling.
