The City Hall of Stockholm is one of the most beautiful and well known buildings in the world and the most exclusive ballroom in Stockholm, frequently used for e.g. the yearly Nobel Banquet.

The City Hall is known for its hospitality, its unique art treasures, magnificent banquettes and an intriguing history attracting close to 400,000 visitors a year.

Architecturally Stockholm’s City Hall is one of Sweden’s foremost examples of “national romanticism”. After twelve years of construction overseen by architect Ragnar Östberg, the building was inaugurated on Midsummer’s Eve in 1923.

More than 8 million bricks were used in the building of City Hall. The City Hall Tower, topped by three crowns, the Swedish national coat of arms, rises 106 meters above the edifice. City Hall with its many offices, meeting rooms, council chambers and stupendous banquet halls provides a workplace for politicians as well as civil servants.

The Political Center:
From the City Hall, which is the main symbol for the capital of Sweden, the City of Stockholm is being governed. Around 200 politicians and civil servants have their offices in this building.

The Tower:
Rising 106 meters into the air, the City Hall Tower offers a breathtaking view of Stockholm. An exciting walk up the 365 steps through narrow passages is well worth the effort. There is an elevator that goes half-way to the top. The Tower Museum located in the Tower is also worth a visit.

Hi Ismojo,
This is a fairly nice shot, I like the time of day, there is still enough colors in the sky, dark blue hour. the city light is slowly coming on. Normally, the placement of thing right in the center doesn't work too well for composition, but here it seem to be just fine, but I still would have taken one off center. Otherwise, it is a very nice shot. I like it. Thanks

Beautiful nightshot (I am a nightshot lover), great balanced framing, the "central" composition works perfectly well in this case! Great light management under given conditions, althought I think that the result would be even more impressive, if you had taken it, a few minutes earlier, with a little bit more blue in the sky!

A beautiful and well-composed night shot. The centered position is actually the best choice here. I agree with those saying that it would have been better to wait until it was a bit darker. The result would actually have been better. I believe that it would also have been good to use a tripod here. TFS and have nice evening!

Hi Ismojo, The lines of this composition are simple and clean.It is a nice, night exposure with a strong mood.Although this night view does not allow us to see the detail, we get a clear idea of its its strength and presence. It makes a most imposing sight. regards kevin

Nice shot of the structure...but maybe the result would have been better if shot some minutes earlier to get advantage of the blue hour..and maybe some more light in the dark areas. An off-centre composition with the tower more to the left could have also worked. But overall a nice night shot
