Photographer’s Note
The Grillska Huset (the Grill House) is situated in Stortorget in the Old Town of Stockholm. Its history dates back to medieval times. However, the building has been rebuilt in 1649, 1750 and 1914. The gables in Baroque style are from the 17th century. The building got is name from the Grill Family that bought it in the 17th century and owned it for 200 years. In the year 1912 the Stockholm Stadsmission (the Stockholm City Mission) bought the house and is still the owner of it. The Stockholm stadsmission is non-profit organization that was founded in 1853. It helps people who have difficulties and do not fit in with the help provided by society´s welfare services People that are in need of care, physically as well as mentally, homeless people, young people that need education and elderly people with special needs. The activities rely to a great extent on private donations and its social work is based on the Christian message of love.

Hej Ulf,
I like the interesting facts you have about the houses in Gamla stan and it inspires to go deeper into the history here. This house looks almost like a very famous Swedish vodka bottle :) Lovely afternoon light, fine colors and sharpness, Tfs !
Bästa hälsningar.

Hej Ulf,
My first impression was the this building looked fairly modern. After reading your excellent note, I wonder if the 1914 renovation could have something to do with this. However, I really like the different blue colours here and the lights from all the windows. A very good POV!

Hello Ulf,
Great light on the house, illuminated from within but still clearly detailed at the outside.

Hi Ulf,
This beautiful blue composition has the typical atmosphere of the cold, fresh air of the Nordic countries.
The technical set up of your camera is superior here. The balance between the natural evening light and the artificial light is perfect.

Hello Ulf,
a vague attempt: grey and grey against blue? It works, no doubt, the warm lights in the windows help much. But to tell the truth: the most impressive for me is here the note justifying the often mentioned cohesion of the Swedish society. It would be a good lesson for our region where people are waiting for the state to solve every problem.
Best whishes
Laszlo
