Beautiful view of Locarno, a photo from Ticino, Est

Photographer's Note

I took this "aerial" shot of Locarno city from top of the "Cardada" mountain. The "fan" like shape is the delta formed by river Maggia.

Locarno, the city famous for its annual "Locarno Internaltional Film Festival" in August every year, is located in the Ticino region of Switzerland.

Cardara peak gives 360 degree view of the mountain peaks surrounding the beautiful Locarno city and Lake Maggiore.

thanks for placing my city in trekearth!!!! i can see my house and my office from the sky. when did you come here and why? did you come for the film festival? now the Cardada peak and Cimetta (the shot you took , i think you shot it from Cimetta, the top peak from Cardada, maybe in front at the restaurant "lo stallone", the best spot for polenta and cheese) are covered from snow. it's snowing a lot right now!
a shame you cut out the islands of brissago...
