Well... not exactly;) This one has been indeed shot from my window but unfortunately this window was mine only for a week. Here we see the summit of Gross Fischerhorn (4.049 m), one of the highest summits in Bernese Alps. This mountain can be seen only from the village of Grindelwald. It was first reached on 23 July 1862 by H. B. George and Adolphus Warburton Moore, with guides Christian Almer and Ulrich Kaufmann.

Grindelwald is a place of extraordinary beauty, I hope to return there once again. The shot was made in the morning, above 3000 m it had snowed during the night, here's the result :)

Lots of work... but it's nice to be here again and I hope to come more often...

Himalayesque! Des contrastes saisissants qu'on croirait sorti tout droit des géants de l'Himalaya et pourtant nous sommes bel et bien dans l'Oberland!

Alexander,
Wow! what a great view if only for a week! Your composition and use of light is great. The snow covered mountains are contrasted nicely by the deep blue sky.
Great shot!

Hi Alexander! Long time no see!

Even if it was just for a week, still you had the chance to enjoy, one of the best windows of the world! Amazing view, excellent landscape photography! Perfect framing and composition, excellent light managment, impressive overall definition! Congratulations!

Hercules

PS. I hope you're back for good...

that's a great view, the kind of view i would love to have from my window if i was living in the mountains, with sunlight like this in the morning
good inclusion of the enlightened tree on the shady BG

Yes, I agree, Grindelwald is an awesome place I'd always like to return to. I remember this view along the valley towards Gross Fischerhorn very well. The image is beautifully composed and even the frame suits it well. I'm surprised with how well the tree at the bottom complements the mountains on top. However, I think you overexposed the snow a bit.

privet alexander
long time, no see. and a nice come-back picture, which i must have somehow missed in the jungle of the galleries here. i like the game of triangles you have spotted and played out nicely here. if you ask me: the snow seems exposed just perfectly here... actually: you get my compliments for that! ;)

cheers,
kristaps

salut alexander
une image bien réalisée car les écarts de lumiére ne sont pas si facile a maitriser, un paysage magnifique ou la montagne enneigée flashe bien avec ce blanc de neige
amitiés
