One morning at Creux du van Photo

Photographer’s Note

Last month, my family and some friends went to Creux du Van, a breathtakingly beautiful natural rock cirque. The eroding power of water and ice created this impressive natural amphitheatre, which is a kilometre (over 3,000 feet) wide. From there we could see far up to the Lake of Neuchâtel and the Jura valleys.

Went up early morning to catch the sunrise :)
Some pictures I have put here . The whole areas indeed are beautiful and so much to see.

there is very nice tones from the sky and the POV is very nice, the gradation of the tones of the mountains is making a beautiful effect of depth, beautiful moment captured, and well captured, good photo ;)

I see you're quite often at the Creux du Van ! This early morning wake up for sure was not a bad idea and thanks to the fog absence we can get a very nice sunrise view of it, where the succeeding mountain ranges showing different strengths of black give the idea of distance and the depth.

I was browsing and came across your fine image taken at the most perfect time of the day. The colours are outstanding and the light is perfect. I don't think you could better the quality or the sharpness, they are just outstanding.Well done.

Cessy, you were able to capture this breathtaking moment that you describe in your note very well. The deep valley with the fog working as a veil is most beautiful and gives the right shield to avoid the overexposure of the sun that is nicely placed off center. Very nice photography!

Hi Cessy,

It's more usual to see the sunsets, but the sunrise are too quite impressive with this magical light inviting to world to wake up. The misty mood is marvellous, colors and "atmosphere" creates a great depth. It's really beautiful. Thanks!

Very moody this one Cessy. The layers of hills and mountains almost hidden in the mist all topped by the warm glow of the fading day makes a top setting and posterlike presentation. Very good.

I love the light and the composition in this shot. The deep is great and it looks beautiful. Anyway, I would add a bit of red and yellow. I think it would improve the photo.

You were well rewarded with rising early for this sublime scene. I love the mist in the valley and the sun as a ball of steadily rising fire. The exposure level seems just right. Very fine work. All the best.
