The opening in the trees give us an amazing view of this valley. The mountains to the right seem lofty above the lake. Good colours and excellent point of view. The stitching process is very good as there are no visible flaws anywhere on the image. Thanks Henk.

I wouldn't have discovered it was a switch if you hadn't mentioned it. It's perfect. Great view and great vantage point. The framing between the tall trees is great and the landscape down there is a dream one. The combination of greens and blues is always striking and here the clarity pleases me a lot. Great one my friend. It's a pleasure to discover Europe through your eyes.

What a delightful scene. I have only been to this place for skiing so it's interesting to see it in a different colour. The trees on either side make for a nice symmetrical frame, and the whole scene is full of saturated colour. This certainly has brightened up my very grey, foggy and frozen morning here. Hi Henk,

we both know I've learned something about sharpness with you. But it takes some time for me to reach your work quality regarding that. I see that sharpness was an important feature in this great view. Of course the colors are superb as much as the contrasts and the pov is something "unreal" for me considering that staying in a place like that is impossible for this instance. It's trully a wonderful composition!

Another WoW from me, Henk. I guess that this kind of patience that makes one return many times to a beautiful spot to get the best weather conditions, is also very important to make a great photographer. Dear Henk,
The crystal atmosphere is astonishing!! great POV, colour and exposure, your equipment is great and helped you a lot in that, but you're the photographer my friend.
A minor point may be considered the black border on the bottom which is not equal to the one in the top. Yes I know you did that to give more emphasis to the title written, but I think its still too big, however that doesn't affect this masterpiece photo you've shared.

three vertical exposures stichted together... en ik merk er niets van!
De foto is gewoon ontzettend mooi, kwalitatief niet te evenaren (maar dat ben ik van jou inmiddels wel gewend) en perfectly framed.
Heel apart & zeer elegant die twee zwarte vlakken, waarvan de bovenste dunner is en de onderste breder. Dat had ik ook nog niet gezien.

Like you I've been standing there several times, last one in july with Kari, but never had such nice conditions, I should have joined you on this tour instead of spending those night days in a dusty office... The stitch is excellent and the landscape unveiled as the V gets wider works best, as do the rich colors, but those are exactly what we'd expect from you anyway.

Salut Henk! Well well, there is a lot of Swissess in this one, and as a true Swiss Miss I may say that :) I like how the blue makes its way into the land and the smog you mention is actually a nice feature disturbing the "niceness" just a little. We had a friend living in the area for a while and he and his wife acutally came from Hamburg. I guess it was a very different life style for him and his children started to listen to folklore music and went to the catholic church on Sundays with the other children (he is not belonging to any church whatsoever, and his father was a music professor and folklore was probably not in their cd collection). So much to rural Switzerland and its difficulties :) Have a good night (and no, I cannot yodel, and yes it is a beautiful picture), Barbara.

Great panoramic shot! The valley seems to stretch out forever, and it's nicely framed with the trees on each side providing a V-shape for us to look down. Great colour and contrast too, which never hurts a photo - well done!

what on earth do you want as a critique here? The composition, colors, light, PP, etc ... as perfect and flawless. It reminds me the naturalistic paintings of the 19th century. ilike also the frame that gives a better impact for the contrast of the photography.

Dag, Henk. Ik hou hier van de harmonie tussen de verschillende groene tinten: zeer donker op de bomen, zeer licht in de weiden en groen blauw voor het meer. Het meer heb je uitstekend geplaatst in je compositie. Het perspectief is zeer goed met de V-opening in het bos die naar het dorp en het meer leidt.

Hallo Henk,
for sure personal and nothing else but I do not like here the black ceiling. It is not enough (what a luck) to prevent me from enjoying this beautiful enlighted scenery captured from a very good POV. The view through the trees opens the valley and the mountain is at a wonderful position (nature makes great compositions) and as you describe, with the light of that moment something to enjoy (we have to be there at the right moment :-) A dream of clarity.

Light and clarity are excellent. And it's fun to see the haze further down showing how the contions are usually. I'm less convinced about framing, I could do with less forest. I guess this was taken at a viewing spot by the road, there's more open views at the hiking path.

Hello H&M,

Quite a surprising composition here Henk, but it does work nicely, with threes in the foreground framing the village. With this strong perspective pulling us into the scene, it would be difficult to avoid these nice looking houses sprinkled around the turquoise lake.

Colours are splendid, vibrant and plenty. I particularly like the array of green shades.

U bent niet de fotograaf die frequent met de zwarte balken werkt, maar ik vind dit niet mis hier.
Wat het naaiwerk betreft dit zonder meer perfect, ik zie geen verbindingen.
U koos mooi tussen de dennen bomen om de vallei en het water te kunnen meenemen, zeer geslaagd samenstelling.
U moet het maar doen dan weet men exact hoe het werk!

Hello Henk,

An exceptional piece. What catches my eye the most is the colour contrasts created by the green landscape and the vivid blue sky. The camera settings have allowed for a beautiful clear image result. The misty valley in the distance is a good element, as is the scattering of the houses. The tall trees and towering peaks add to your vertical composition, the valley funnels the gaze of the eye deep into the picture. Beautiful work as always Henk.

Beautifully captured. Color is perfect, composition just right and post processing very well done.

Your stitching worked out very, very well for this composite... I don't see any compositing flaws at all.

I conducted a test of stitching software for myself a while back. I included all the stitching software I could find, 6 or 8 different ones, including PTGui.

My conclusion was the free software Hugin was the best. In my opinion it beats out all the other free and commercial software.

Hugin is a composite of a whole series of free components created by different development teams. Those components are used by everyone else, including commercial developers.

Unfortunately Hugin is the least documented and also the most difficult to install and understand as well... but I still recommend it.

Ta photo est simplement grandiose.
Le point de vue, la netteté, les couleurs, la luminosité... c'est superbe.
J'aime la façon dont les sapins servent d'encadrement et nous amènent au plus profond de la vue, jusqu'à profiter de cette légère brume, dans le fond, qui donne un aspect presque irréal à ton image.
