Intercity train on the Luogelkin viaduct on BLS Lötschberg southern ramp line coming down from Goppenstein to Brig. Intercities no longer use this line after opening the Lötschberg base tunnel. But this has left more room for regional trains serving tourists.

Along this line there's also famous hiking path between Hohtenn and Lalden providing great views of the railway and deep down to Rhone valley.

Bonne journée.

Hi Kari,
Quite an appropriate post given the fact that the Lötschberg base tunnel was officially put into service last week-end. I'm not a big fan of the square format though I admit that in this case it gives the possibility to show the depth of the valley, the backdrop of mountains and it leaves some open space in front of the train. I like the inclusion of the branches at the top that make a natural frame.
Have a nice day.
Brigitte

Terve Kari,
Not easy to shoot action with an A95, here you were a little fraction of a second too late but anyway the result is nice and this photo fully appropriate to celebrate the Lötschberg opening. Of course the background is superb !
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Hello Kari,
Very pleasant view of a good landscape photo with a moving train!
the exposure and focus is spot on with good clarity, natural colouration and so much details to enjoy
well done and TFS
best regards
Tony

A very nice shot. I like the trees that you've included at the top of the shot. Means that you're not lost in the vast skies. Fantastic composition although I think the picture could perhaps be just a bit sharper and perhaps use some more contrast.

Hi Kari,
Although not really sharp on the head, the rest of the scenery and your framing and overal composition is perfect. A real Switzerland photo, i like it.
Regards, Henk

Very good framing with the branches on top, Kari, against the light but still impressive, very Swiss:))

Cheers
Alexander

Hello Kari
L'angle de vue est superbe.
La loco rouge ajoute une belle touche de couleur.
Bonne journée
Christophe

Hi Kari,

So you're a trainspotter!... You've caught an iconic image of swiss red train over an awesome bridge. The locomotive is perfectly place over the arch and between electric poles. Good use of the upper branches to frame the scene.

Best regards,

André

Kari,
the placement of the locomotive in perspective with the background mountains and the deep valley is really something breathtaking. I will miss this route. I loved taking the train from Goppenstein to Brigg and having the thrill to see the whole landscape unfold in the window.
Cheers, Peter

I like how the sun just illuminates the bottom of the arch. Can use a bit of sharpening, but I like the colors - they look very natural. A little less sky would work better for me. The train reminds me of a Swiss Army knife.

Hello Kari ,

very nice railway shot from the SBB.I know the BLS very well from some trips. Here you have realized a very good composition and excellent colors.I think a little bit unsharp on the engine but a good shot.Bravo.

With regartds from Luxembourg

Jean-Claude

Hi Kari,

Even if I know the trip quite well, this is an imposing picture of that train. For me probably the best one in Switzerland with the "Glacier Express".
Cheers
