Hi Jean-Yves,
Is he going to hike all the way down to Zermatt, that looks like heavy stuff. Wonderful weather freshly reported from the Alps. I also have a picture from this PoV, I wonder if I'll some day make a revisit with digital.
Be careful with saturation, those rocks have some tones that no more look like granite.

Eh bien tu es souvent sur la route ces derniers temps. Le point de vue est effectivement à saisir absolument. J'aime beaucoup l'inclusion de ce photographe japonais qui semble vraiment bien équipé. Il est courageux d'avoir apporté son moyen format jusque là !

The Matterhorn is a striking mountain from any angle, an at any time of te day. Beautiful composition with excellent details and inclusion of the photographer. The light and colours give the image a more natural feeling. Nice angle and setting. Thnks :-)

Sympa cette composition avec le Mamiya et le Cervin en point d'orgue. Une image qui donne envie de partir en randonnée sur le champ... Mais pas ce week-end :-(
Le chemin a quand même l'air assez fréquenté et il doit être un peu tard pour bénéficier de lumières sympathiques.

Et oui Jean Yves, c'est là la douce folie du photographe, se trimbaler des kgs de matos, même en montagne...en tous les cas, le jour J dans la ville de H...je ne pourrai pas les promener ces Kgs préférés, puisque je serai à essayer de ne pas en prendre assis autour d'une table...tant pis ce sera pour une autre fois. Voilà donc où tu es allé trainer tes guêtres mardi dernier. Je comprends mieux pourquoi Didier parlait d'alpinistes dans son mail de l'autre jour. On peut dire que tu avais choisi la bonne journée pour aller au Gornergrat car il faisait vraiment très beau ce jour là. Je pense que tu as rempli les cartes mémoire avec suffisamment de stock pour faire concurrence à Didier et au cousin...
Belle prise avec ton alter ego japonais qui photographie le célèbre Swiss Icon.

Wow. Very nice clarity, colors, and sharpness. I do have the same POV of the Matterhorn taken on film the scanned quality too bad to post on TE. Looking at this photo reminds me of that hike from Gornergrat to Zeermatt 20 years ago. You got here a lovely blue water & bright sunny day. Perhaps the wind was too strong to catch the reflections on the water. Best Regards. Latiff.

Good morning Jean Yves,
Ever looked through a 4x5 inch camera? Don't, you will through your camera away ;-)
This is complete different stuff, although the medium format was once unique, now with the mkIII and the new Sony that will be relased (Nikon wil also follow), they come real close to medium format. Only the 4x5 inch are a class on their own, load a Velvia and still way better than any digital cam.
But that there are still people who shoot like this is remarkable. The true believers, the people who don't think digital isn't interesting at all....i love to meet those people.
Pity the guy isn't on TE, would love to see his result...

Lovely shot of the lake and the iconic Matterhorn, which would work well without the PT san, but adding him in the frame adds a lot of interest. Of course you knew where to place him in the frame for maximum impact. The hikers in the distance also add an extra element. Well done

Comment tu as réussi à sauter de Budapest à Zermatt si vite ?
Cela me rappel lorsque j'ai fait la descente il y a 17 ans et j'ai demandé à un asiatique me prendre en photo. Le temps était similaire mais sans nuages. La nettété et couleurs sont impeccables et le photographe superbien placé.

Jean-Yves, cette photo pourrait illustrer le site de TE avec un photographe photographié alors qu'il photographiait les beautés du monde !
Le paysage est sublime, la montagne sur un ciel bleu agrémenté de nuages qui collent aux parois, le lac et le photographe tout est bien cadré et composé, un régal.
