Photographer’s Note
This is my first photo of the serie dedicated to the treck from Zermatt to Arolla. A well knowed treck, but my first time in summer conditions. Usually I have gone in winter, with skies. It has been something special and I hope you enjoy your self.
This picture, is took at the morning when we has left the "Schonbiel hut", direction to the Stockji summit, bordering the "Tiefmattengletscher". An amazing glacier with a lot of cracks, and with the "Dent d'Herens" in front. The alpinist in front of me, is my colleague "of job".

Hej Javier,
This is a really gorgeous mountain landscape. I like the contrast between the brownish tones in the foreground and the snow in the background. The mountain peak looks great, since it's the only part which is lit up and also the little cloud above it is great. The lonely person on the right hand side is a very good inclusion. Well done and thanks for sharing!

Lars

Hi Javier,
Nice timing to capture the cloud directly atop the peak. The sharpness is good. The composition is good using the valley as a lead-in line and I like the inclusion of the hiker for scale. The red leggings and pack were fortunate as they make him stand out better. You've captured good detail in the shadows and you've been judicious with the polarizer giving us a realistic and lovely if mostly cloudless sky. My only critique is that the highlights on the lightest patch of snow have been blown. An ND grad would have saved the day here but still a nice image.
Cheers!
Bob G.

Daniel

Hello Javier
Striking capture - well composed with strong diagonals. The wispy sunlit cloud over the mountain top really catches the eye. I posted a WS to bring up levels on the foreground using a technique I read about on the plane this evening.

Bonjour Javier,
Nice shot, I like the exposure for the shadows which allows to get details on all the bottom of the picture with the ice and the stones.
The alpinist shares the scale of the landscape and is well put in the frame.
Nevertheless, the summit in the sun is a little too much white, is there a possibility by post-processing to put back some details in this full white area?
Whatever, it seems to be a very nice place for hiking.
Yves.

Excellent shot. You could download Picasa from Google free and try the graduated tint filter to play down the overexposed snow but the exposure is bang on for the rest of the image. I really like the little cloud in this image. Looks like quite a trek.

Hola Javier,
Bonne journee,
Jean-Yves

Hi Javier,
fantastic view. You managed finding the right moment to fire. The interplay between sun and shadow works great. Not least because of the majestic light illuminating the peak. The trekker gives a good contrast to the powerful landscape. Furthermore there are several "lines" which pass the observer slowly through your photo.
Well done
Best regards
Manuel
