Albula line between Chur and St. Moritz is the historic main line of Rhätische Bahn, opened in 1903. It connects Engadine valley with the rest of Switzerland, although nowadays the quickest route goes through the 19 km long Vereina tunnel opened in 1999.
The line is built along mountains slopes through almost endless series of tunnels and bridges.

This northbound train is just crossing Landwasser viaduct with modern class Ge 4/4 III engine in Glacier Express colours in front.

hi kari
very nice colors and good contrast also.
i like how the green of the jungle combine with the red of the train!
congrats theofanis

Hi Kari, I have always wanted to get a shot like this, shooting on the inside with the train on a curve, and you have all the elements working for you here. It's not just on a curve, but you have it passing over a stone arched bridge and heading for a tunnel. You have great contrasting colour between the green trees and the red train. Your timing and composition is excellent. Do they let you hang out a doorway, or how do you get the shot?

Thanks, John

Hello Kari,

Very good timing while train on curve and dangerous one too. You very well included old stone bridge, with great effects of perspective in red color. Congratulations.

Best Regards,

Ertugrul

This technique of shooting from a window while the train goes round a bend works perfectly to achieve a dynamic image. I also like the way we can see the tunnel ahead. The fact the train is red is also a bonus for the impact the image has. Well done
Kath

Terve Kari,
Crossing the Landwasser viaduct in a nice red RhB train must have been a highlight of your swiss trip, short just at the right moment here to get most of the red train curve stand out against the rest, some parts of the viaduct structures, even some old carriages which look in my view better than the panoramic version.
Have a nice day JY

Hi Kari,
Beautifully red. Beautifully framed.
Regards, F.

Hello Kari,
I like this photo of the train negotiating a turn to enter the tunnel. Good feeling of height and movement given by the bridge and narrowing closeness to railing & steep slope. The red of the train give much contrast. Have a good week. Regards. Latiff.

Hello Kari!

This is beautiful shot with great view of this viaduct and train perspective!

I have tried to shot this type of pictures but have not had got your impressive pictur here, less on a bridge beside a cliff. I assume that the train was not traveling fast because of the closed curve. The addition of the mouth of the tunnel at the extreme right igives us an excellent visual description of the text you write, because we can see the a bridge and a tunnel at the same time.
Good work.
Regards,
Jürgen
