Photographer’s Note

Still from montgolfiade de geneve 2008.
In the afternoon, there were lots of hot air balloons launched from different places at Geneva.
So from Park Bertrand , I went to St. Pierre Cathedral at old town. There was one balloon only from this place.

Really interesting effect with this long tunnel effect withing the balloon. I like the silhoutettes of the tree and building.

one of the best examples of this kind -man in a baloon- of pics on TE... so sharp and clear, and well composed of course... the shadow of the tree adds a lot to the charm... my compliments karina...

I would have liked to have gone there, especially as the weather was so good - but no time. I like your view inside, espcially having the man as it accentuates the hugeness of it. The silhouette of the branches adds to the atmosphere.

Je vois que tu as mis à contribution les montgolfiades de Genève afin de nous rapporter de très belles images. L'idée est très bonne ici. L'intérieur de cette toile est impressionant et la présence de la personne donne une bonne idée de l'échelle. J'aime bien également l'ombre de l'arbre au
fond.

Hi Cessy, I hope that you are well. This is a nice shot exploring the interior of the grand balloon. The red and yellow patterns (as well as the shadow effects) provide a compelling graphical setting, and the person is well included for scale and lively interest. The black borders work out surprisingly well for the presentation, too. Greetings from Nagasaki.

A vibrant image for your 200th post from Switzerland, Cessy. Technically very good as well - exposure and sharpness are spot-on. I took one like this in Turkey a few years ago from the position of where the man is standing whilst the balloon pilot was firing the burner towards me - exciting stuff! Cessy,
a single balloon at St. Pierre Cathedral but you certaibnly used the opportunity quite well to get this most intriguing shot. I have never been to any show like this and can't even understand you get to such an composition. I certainly see the shadows of the landscape on the balloon and then the peron walking inside it. Does that mean that you shot this through the entrance of where the flame goes through?
