[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
An imposing thunderhead appears over the mountains above the town of Montreux. A "thunderhead" is a nickname for a cumulonimbus cloud formation that is typically seen in association with storms or heavy weather.

TL members may note that I posted a similar photo of this cloud formation on TL yesterday; there I used a 70-300 mm telephoto for a closer shot to make the clouds bigger and more ominous; here I used an 18-55 mm to show more blue sky and a bit more of the landscape below. Not sure which one I like better.

Hallo Sandy!
A really impressive natural phenomenon - and photo as well! It was very good that you gave so much space to this threatening sky. Great!
Greetings from Germany!

Hi Sandy,

Clever choice using more wider lens of 18-55mm. Your frame includes amazing formation of clouds on village texture. You may try 70-300mm just shooting part of buildings with roofs or trees while including splendid clouds again. It can be also interesting. I like your scene in natural colors a lot too. Congratulations.

Best Regards,

Ertugrul

Very impressive cloud formation you captured here. I like how the clouds seem to be in motion and growing in intensity right as you caught them. Thanks for sharing.
