Photographer’s Note
The river in the picture, Siverskiy Donets, is the largest river of Eastern Ukraine. It is a tributary of the Don River; therefore it has the name Donets that means “minor Don”. The coal-field Donbas (Donets Basin, in Donetska and Luganska provinces of Ukraine and in Rostov region of Russia) got its name from the river, as well as Donetsk city and its oblast (province). The first name of the river is arguable. In maps you can find both Siverskiy Donets (from the name of ancient Slavic tribe, sivertsi, or from the name of Northern wind, siverko) and Severniy (or Pivdenniy in Ukrainian) Donets (Northern Donets). More formal name is Siverskiy, as in modern Ukrainian maps.
In the picture you also can see Sviatohirska Lavra, one of the most respected monasteries of Ukrainian Orthodox Church. It is situated among the hills at the right bank of the Donets River. These hills are called Sviati Hori (Holly Hills), so the monastery is named Sviatohirska Lavra. Its subsidiary, All Saints Skete, is the subject of another my TE shot, Morning in Wooden Town.

Sergiy,
This is a nicely composed shot with the river creating a diagonal through the shot. The lighting and colors are fine with excellent sharpness. The sky is a little pale but I think this could have been avoided by using a polarizing filter.

Hi Sergiy,
wonderful site! Interesting to see the architecture amoung the vivid greens. The reflection on the river is such a nice bonus to this attractive presentation. You did a great job on the catch (angle, POV) and post-processing with this good colors/bright control. Well done!

Carlos

Hi Sergiy,
A really fine composition. All the elements are in the right place here. The grass on the river bank is very good lead in to the monastry on the other side of the river and love the way it climbs up the hill. The lighting and colours are also very attractive. TFS and have a nice Sunday!
Cheers,
Ulf

Good evening Sergiy,
The turquoise color are very attractive. The white frontages revealed by the light create a strong contrast with the forest. This monastery is an architectural jewel, which you knew to put forward. I appreciate the point of view and framing, as well as the reflection. Excellent image, captivating. Congratulations.
Have a nice evening

Hello Sergiy,
This monastery is imposing and surely very interesting to visit (thank you for Internet link). Superb catch of sight on this architecture including this beautiful and calm river. I like much the light and the reflection of the colors. I think that the front view must be also splendid. Well done Sergiy.

Hi Sergiy,
this is a very poetic impression due to the wonderful light and the beautiful architecture. The gentle colors create a pleasant atmosphere of the river. What I like most is that the banks of this fascinating river are obviously not spoilt. A wonderful image, TFS!
Warm regards
