Photographer’s Note
This church was opened in 1866 in Khakiv’s suburb of Zhuravlevka. Now this is Shevchenko’s street, one of the longest in the city. The construction of the church was over in 1875. It was built in Russian-Byzantine style according to the design made by architects F. I. Danilov and V. N. Nebolsin.
The church kept working even at the times of persecutions and Nazi’s occupation. There was the church garden there up to the 1950-th, but unfortunately now it has become a parking. The church was renovated in 1996, the year of its 130-th anniversary. Then a Sunday school was opened there. As the church and the whole region of Zhuravlevka are situated near the Kharkiv River, there are expressive ceremonies of water sanctifying there in winters.

Hello Sergiy,
You have captured the style, size and colours of this church very well. The dooms set against the white puffy clods highlight their beauty.
Well done.

Chrystyna

Hi Sergiy,
The quality of the image is superb and emphasizes well these splendid religious buildings. I like much the clearness and the good exposure to the light which creates an extraordinary relief and gives good colors. Obviously this sky is a beautiful asset in your photograph. The car in front of the building should have had an infringment to be found there !!! I joke… Beautiful and interesting photograph, thank you Sergiy.
With all my friendships and very good Sunday,
Jean-Charles

Hi Sergiy,
A beautiful presentation of the charming architecture of this (or these?) churches. You knew how to took profit of the clarity of the day and the picturesque cloudy sky. It's funny how the left part of the building looks like a miniature.
Regards,
José

Hi Sergiy!
This is a little different from the other churches although still in the same style!
I like the contrast in the red and white walls with the black cupolas!
Good sharpness and details against a grey and blue sky!
I like the details of the fine cords holding the crosses in place. I suppose they must exist on all churches, but it's the first time I have noticed them.
This is a fine travelogue you have created.
Did you travel from Kharkiv to Kiev on the train with the aim of visiting both cities and in between?
Thanks for sharing anyway! Best regards.
Marie Louise.
