Photographer’s Note

By the end of the first day of our two-day bike trip over old Ukrainian estates we were in village of Kachalivka, where many Kharkiv’s citizens, including my only partner on this trip, have summer cottages (“dacha”) due to proximity of this place to a big forest and the Merla River. Unfortunately, as a rule, such real estates are not used for relaxation but for taking care of vegetable garden and orchard. We were not exclusion, having watered vegetables and fought against weeds.

J'aime beaucoup ce jardin qui semble abandonné et envahi par les herbes. Le rouge des coquelicots fait merveille sur le vert de l'herbe.

Hi Sergiy!
Lovely close-up of these 10 poppies against the overgrown garden. The bright red gives a very good effect on the green! It's just a pity the house is a little overexposed; but it's a pleasant picture all the same!
What you say about datchas or holiday homes is very true: One spends all one's time tending to the house or garden! But on the other hand, wildlife must have a wale of a time in these overgrown gardens!

Dobar dan, Cuprija je zatrpana snegom, tesko se odvija saobracaj i hladno je.
