Photographer’s Note

The exterior of the structure was rebuilt in the Ukrainian Baroque style in the 18th century while the interior remained in its original Byzantine style. The cathedral was demolished by the Soviet authorities in the 1930s, but was recently reconstructed after Ukraine gained its independence.

Hi Ivan,

You know what I like about this .. and I think makes this one stand out from this series for me .. is how well the tone of the building matches the sky. very nice. Beautiful use of the gold in that balance of building and sky .. just a tiny bit of what I think are halos from the sharpening in the sky color right next to the gold ... striking place .. very nice image. take care, John
