Photographer’s Note
In the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries the city of Solhat was a large, prosperous city referred to by the Arabic contemporaries as the second Baghdad. From that period remain the ruins of a mosque and madrassa, built in 1314 by Uzbeg Khan. After moving the capital of the Crimean Khanate to Bakhchisaray the city declined into relative obscurity.

Hello Said,
Thanks for presenting an interesting historic place, which I did not know before about! Unfortunately two months ago I miss these nice ruins, but fortunately I was to another remarkable sight near Solhat (Stariy Krim), Armenian Surb-Khach monastery, which I saw in your second TE picture. What about this one, it is taken with good composition and photographic quality. Good start on TE!
Best regards,
Sergiy
