Photographer's Note

This for me is what its all about. Bedruthan Steps in Cornwall is possibly my favourite place on earth (so far) for taking photos. For me it has everything a landscape (or seascape) photographer could ever hope for. But photography aside, it gives you so much more. Ive only walked on this beach on two seperate occasions, but the feeling each time is one of complete awe. This is the rugged wilderness that I aspire to photograph, its the place I always look for. I feel so alive on this beach, it completely washes away all the crap of daily life. It makes you feel so alive. If you havent visited, you really must go. We arrived here last Saturday 3 hours before the sunset, but the tide was completely in, and you cannot hope to reach Bedruthans beach when the tide is in; its all underneath huge crashing waves. So we waited, and waited, and started to think we would be unlucky on this occasion. But, after 3 hours of waiting, the tide had receded enough for a quick dash off the steep stairway that leads to the beach, and onto the boulders on the shore. We had about 20 minutes until darkness, and we certainly made the most of it. In that 20 minutes the tide receded so much that we could walk over most of the beach, which was an experience in itself. To be the first person to walk on Bedruthan after the tide has retreated is a magical experience. Do that at dunset/twilight and its even more special. God I must stop, Im getting carried away. GO THERE!!!!!
