Photographer's Note

A view from the other side of the lake situated in the grounds of the Tudor Manor House of Ightham Mote. This is looking towards the half-timbered cottages featured in yesterday's posting of the herb garden. Once thought Elizabethan they are now dated at about 1475.

Ightham Mote (pronounced "item moat") is a medieval moated manor house close to the village of Ightham, near Sevenoaks in Kent. The name "mote" derives from "moot", "meeting [place]", rather than referring to the body of water.
