Photographer's Note
Hello Everyone,
This is view that one meets when walking up from Wycoller Country Park here to the old road, to Haworth.
If you walk through the gate and follow the footpath across the field, you will see the panopticon at the top of the hill.
If, like me, until a few years ago, you do not know what a panopticon is, then I will show you more clearly in my next post.
Many thanks for stopping by.
I hope you enjoyed the photograph and the mystery, Bev :-)

Hello Bev,
here is an intriguing view over the gate.I always enjoy views with gates and old fence posts etc in the fg.I'm guessing a panopticon is something like the camera obsura we have in Dumfries museum. It offers a 360dgrees view of the area. I won't google it but will wait for your next post.
best regards,
Bev

Hello Bev,
Up to your post I even have not heard of Panopticon. I'm not that much patient, sorry, I searched in the web and found so many interesting information about it and its designer J.Bentham. Thanks for introducing. Though I'm keenly awaiting your next post. Regarding your photo, using the wooden gate as a reference for your vantage point you've achieved a great perspective and depth. The vast open green field with lovely trees look beautiful under a clear blue sky. A great shot. Thanks for sharing. Best wishes,
Suleyman

Hi Bev,
This is a beautiful Friday fence scene with a lovely blue sky above these wonderful rolling hills.
The English countryside looks like the place to be on this pleasant afternoon.

Good morning Beverly,
Eagerly waiting to know was is this mysterious panopticon you write about. The typical view of fields with scattered sheeps in white spots always amazed me, while traveling in Englnd.
Uphill's view with the wooden fence in FG has good depth and clearity.
Enjoy your weekend, prepare a good "panopticon" ( it's not any food, presumably...)

Hello Bev,
I took a similar shot to this in Mongolia of all places, using the wooden fence as a way to frame the fg and add depth & graphism. Good sharpness & superb colour & a nice overview of the green pastures & grazing sheep. The upward pov on the hills adds interest. Tfs!

Hi Beverley
classic composition with all the elements in the right place and perfectly detailed. An idyllic rural scene at the height of an English summer who could resist that. Beautiful!

Hello Bev,
I really didn't need to look at the photographer's name on this one - I could tell by looking at the thumbnail that it was one of yours. The colours, so natural and not overexpressed or oversaturated, the perfect exposure with a lovely sky and the excellent composition including a welcoming gate in the foreground which we see so often in your photographs.
And we can just see the panopticon up there atop the hill, perfectly placed in the frame and balancing the massy gatepost in the right foreground.
I'm looking forward to seeing a closer view of this sculpture which, of course, is a much more pleasant and artistic construction than the original Panopticon of the eighteenth century.
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.

Hi Bev
and yeah...i have no idea what a Panopticon is, what ever it is it seems to be miss-spelled!
I enjoy these scenes for the fact is so clear, sharp, and the exposure levels are spot on, it just looks like a photo of elegant color and subject.
looking forward to the next post!

Bev
So this is what the view looks like ! I went panopticon hunting on a foul, wet, grey, foggy day and saw not a thing ! Well, just the structures themselves ! The weather at the 'whistling tubes' one was particularly grim !
But this is a fine view and very fine capture of it. Good POV, strong foreground and a lovely whisk away up to the top of the hill for the object in question, neatly framed by the curving of the twigs. Lovely colours, and oh, that sky !
kind regards
Martin
