I find the Sage building at Gateshead absolutely fascinating it reflects the moods of the skies and stands out amongst the more traditional buildings that surround it. I think there is the possibility to take an outstanding image of the Sage. Sadly this isn't it!
Directly adjacent to the Sage there are the remains of some old railway coal drops, built of local stone they were used in the distribution of coal, the laden coal wagons were pushed over the drops and the coal was released through the doors in the bottom of the trucks into the drops where it would be bagged up for sale to business and domestic customers alike.
I have used the pillar of the coal drops to contrast with the smooth organic flow of the aluminium panels cladding the Sage.
I remain frustrated in trying to capture this building but I hope you find the image interesting. |
