Photographer's Note

dunluce castle sits on the basalt cliffs on the north coast of county antrim, close to portrush.

its dominant position overlooking the coast and protected by steep cliffs meant that it was the site of early irish forts. the first castle was built here in the 13th century, and it remained occupied until the end of the 17th century.

on a different note, it also features on the inside cover of led zeppelin's album 'houses of the holy'.
